Losing Money Playing KK v AA … Again!!

A few days into my poker rebirth and I am back where I started after losing 100 big blinds on a pair of kings, when they have come up against aces. I am so sick of doing this now. It has got to stop. Hours of hard-work and discipline down the pan.

Time and time again I make the mistake of going all in pre-flop, or on the turn, against somebody with pocket aces.

What’s pissing me off more than anything though is that the evidence that they have a big hand is staring me in the face. They raise, I re-raise, they re-re-raise. When this happens, it is 99.9999999999999999999999999999% certain they have aces, but I can’t force myself to believe it. I’ve waited so long for a good hand, and I don’t want to let go.

From now on, if somebody is willing to re-re-raise me, I am assuming that they have aces unless:

  1. They are short-stacked
  2. They are a proven donkey, manic and or asshole that has been shoving chips in constantly

What pisses me off even more, is that it is so against my fundamental strategy, that big pots are for big hands and that there is always a better place to put your money in.

I seriously need to listen to my own advice. Poor discipline. Poor risk control.
